Lydia Machado was born in Joilet, Illinois and grew up in Hialeah, Florida.
For the past 40 years, she has worked as the Customer Relations Manager at her father's car dealership, Gus Machado Ford located in the heart of Hialeah. Gus Machado Ford is the largest Hispanic automobile dealership in the United States.
Lydia joined the Hialeah Community Coalition (HCC) in 2015. She has become one of HCC's biggest advocate and supporter. She genuinely enjoys helping people by creating change at the local level. Lydia believes that by bringing grassroot community members together, we empower the community to build leadership, launch action and create awareness which leads to positive change. Our mission is to serve as a community coalition dedicated to the comprehensive & long-term reduction & prevention of underage drinking, substance use & abuse of drugs; while working in partnership to create a safe, healthy & drug-free Hialeah community.
